Singer Abrarul Haq has realised his “mistake” of touring London for an event and “hurting the sentiments” of people.

“I am so hurt that my family is not at home, but I want to say that we are not unfaithful and today I admit my mistake that I should not have arrived here if people are disappointed with me then I should not have come here,” he said in an interview with ARY News on Monday. He was joined by a video link.

Abrar, who parted ways with the PTI days before the event, drew flak for his performance in London last week. Many social media users criticised the singer for “celebrating” after “shedding crocodile tears” at the press conference where he decided to quit PTI.

“We can shut Sahara. Hundreds of them could have been constructed. I did not know that I would not be able to convince them that this activity is for the hospital. Our charity is registered here [London]. It could be shut down. But many people said that Abrar should not have done this. Some said it was his pre-commitment. But many said no issues. And I say both are correct because on one side there is a big cause and on the other hand…

So many people are disappointed with me. I want to ask them what I can do for them. I am worried. I have told them about my case. But I am hurt.“

He was of the view other’s perspectives should be taken on the event. Without naming anyone, he alleged that a journalist had set up a person, “belonging to another party, to hit him with eggs”.

The former PTI leader got emotional when asked about his decision to quit the party.

He stated that the London event was decided two months and it was a charity event for his organisation, Sahara For Life Trust.

He cited that the event was decided two months ago where property tycoons except former PTI leader Aleem Khan would participate. “This is not Aleem Khan’s housing scheme.”

He clarified that he “did not shed crocodile tears” at the Lahore press conference as he has given his energy and time to the party. He refused to go into details about his decision to quit the party when asked by the host.
