Many social media users have been criticising singer Abrarul Haq for his performance in London a day after parting ways with the PTI.

In videos being circulated on Twitter, the singer is seen performing his popular songs. Journalist Murtaza Ali Shah claimed that Abrar the event in which Abrar performed was organised by former PTI leader Aleem Khan’s housing society.

The singer is being criticised for his “crocodile tears” as he cried when he quit the PTI last week. “I am parting ways with politics for now. I cannot see the element of serving people in politics anymore,” an emotional Abrar said in a press conference on May 26.

Reporters in London asked Abrar about his emotions when he quit PTI. “I spent a great time in PTI, with the leadership and the workers. But the events of May 9… I did not get any opportunity to serve the people.”

He said no when reporters asked whether he was “threatened” or “blackmailed” to quit Imran Khan-led party. “I want to relax for now,” he said while responding to a query on returning to politics.

He refused to answer rumours of threats to his family over leaving the party.

‘Crocodile tears’

One of the users said: “Yesterday, Abrarul Haq had crocodile tears in his eyes while quitting PTI.”

He took a dig at the PTI over criticising Abrar.

‘Sign for others’

Another user said that Abrar’s performance was a sign for others to follow.

‘Should have waited’

Scuffle

There was a moment when a person tried to confront a security guard when Abrar was talking to the media.

Shah, who is a London-based correspondent for Geo News, said that the former PTI leader sang ‘Billo Day Gher’ and ‘Nach Punjaban Nach’.

Some people compared Abrar’s performance with his past performance during PTI’s events.
