PTI chairman nominated in Quetta lawyer’s murder case

A case has been filed against the murder of lawyer Abdul Razaq Shar who was killed in Quetta on Tuesday with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s chairman being the main accused.

The case was filed by the slain lawyer’s son, Siraj Ahmad Advocate, in the Shaheed Jameel Kakar police station on Wednesday.

The lawyer was kille on Quetta’s Airport Road after unidentified men on a motorcycle fired at him from a 9mm pistol on Tuesday. Of the 16 bullets on him, seven struck him in the head.

The case was registered under sections 109 and 302 of the penal code and sections 6 and seven of the anti-terrorism act.

Police sources say an arrest could be made after the initial investigation.

Shar was the petitioner in a case against the PTI chairman accusing him of treason under Article 6 of the constitution. The case is also set for hearing later on Wednesday.

Special Assistant to Prime Minsiter on legal affair Attaullah Tarar had accused PTI’s chairmn of being behind the murder in a press confernce in Islamabad a few hours after the incident.

He had also said the PTI chairman would not be able to get stay order or bail in this murder case unlike the other cases he is nominated in.
