No, there is no public holiday on May 25

Information Minsiter Marriyum Aurangzeb denied reports that Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan (Pakistan Martyrs’ Honor Day) on May 25 would be a public holiday.

“The press release being attributed to the Cabinet Division regarding the public holiday is fake,” Aurangzeb said.

It has already been announced that May 25 would be celebrated as Martyr’s Honor Day in light of the attacks on military installations on May 9 and 10. However, it will not be a public holiday.

The reports had claimed that all public and private offices including educational institutions will remain closed across the country.

A ceremony will be held Pakistan Army General Headquarters (GHQ). A number of ceremonies of Quran recitation and prayers for fallen heroes will be arranged across the country.
