Police plans crackdown on PTI financing in Lahore

Lahore police has started gathering reports of people financing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s ongoing protests as part of its crackdown against the party, reports said on Monday.

The police has so far created a list of 88 people who are actively providing financial support to the PTI within the city.

Police has so far learnt that 22 of these financers are in the city division, while 16 are in the Cantt area. Another 19 financers have been traced to Civil Lines, 17 to model town and 12 more to Iqbal Town.

Authorities say that the funds are used to provide and food and shelter to protestors camped around Zaman Park that help Imran Khan resist arrests.

Police has gathered details about the people providing money to PTI and intends to start t a crack down soon.

Interestingly, a worker of the Pakistan People’s Party named Mansha Prince has also been named among the top 10 contributors to PTI’s alleged protest fund.

Mansha has claimed that he has no link with PTI whatsoever and the police is just including him to show ‘better performance’. He also said he has told his party about the police’s intimidation tactics.
