Pervaiz Khattak’s Nowshera constituency pays for road out of its own pocket

People in a Nowshera constituency that twice elected PTI leader Pevaiz Khattak to the provincial and national assemblies are constructing a road from their own pockets.

The road leading from Sherin Kothe to Sukai has been rundown for the most part of the nine years of PTI rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Numerous accidents have taken place because of the huge potholes and made vehicles easy prey for highway robbers, people there told Aaj News.

The locals contacted Khattak several times in the past nine years to draw his attention to this road.

Finally, they decided to build it on their own.

“People have contributed Rs10 and Rs20 for the road construction. Usually people raise funds to construct mosques. This is shameful for all government department in district Nowshera,” said one man.

The KP Assembly has been dissolved now and the PTI is already out of power, waiting for the next election to return.

The PTI leadership strongly believes it will win back this Nowshera constituency, but the road to such a victory may be a little bumpy.
