Enraged mob in Karachi tortures street criminal with ice-cold water

Reacting the rising street crime in Karachi, the citizens have now decided to punish robbers themselves.

The latest such incident was reported in the Rufi Lake Drive Apartment in Gulistan Johar area where people overpowered a robber, recovered the stolen items and then punished him before handing him over to the police. The enraged mob bathed him with ice-cold water.

The residents of the apartment also interrogated the suspect while covering him with ice.

They said that the same robber was caught stealing for the second time. Earlier he was caught stealing from the seventh floor of the apartment and was handed over to the police. This time the resident decided to punish him by themselves.

However, according to Shara Faisal Police that neither any such suspect had been handed over to them nor has any such incident been reported.

“Such videos continue to go viral on social media, but now a system to check fake news is being set up,” the official said.

This was not the only incident of its kind as various videos of such incidents make rounds on social media platforms daily.

Street crime is on the rise in Karachi as robbery and snatching incidents are being reported daily in the city, showing that law enforcement agencies (LEAs) have failed to overcome criminal activities in the metropolis.
