The sixth wave of Covid-19 is expected to grip Pakistan as more than 400 Covid-19 cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours after a gap of almost three months, according to the National Institute of Health data issued on Saturday.
Last time, the country recorded 443 positive cases on March 22.
The positivity rate was 3.19% in a single day. One person died of the virus.
More than half of the virus cases were reported from Sindh for the third consecutive day, with 285 people infected with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
The rise in the number of virus cases was partially attributed to Omicron sub-variants that had been reported in the country.
Amid sharp rise in new infections in the province, the Sindh Health Department had issued an advisory to the commissioners of Karachi and Hyderabad, directing them to ensure the implementation of Covid-19 guidelines, reported The News.
