Cloudflare’s service issue hits websites globally

A large number of websites went down globally on Tuesday after Cloudflare – a performance and security service provider – faced “service issues”.

“The team is aware of the current service issues and is working to resolve it as quickly as possible, “ said Cloudflare in a tweet.

“A critical P0 incident” caused disruption in connectivity of the Cloudflare’s network in broad regions, said a statement released on the website.

Customers in the affected regions observed saw a 500 error. “The incident impacts all data plane services in our network,” it added.

The issue was identified and fixed by the service. “We will continue updating you when we have more information,” said the statement.

After more than an hour, Cloudflare tweeted: “The incident has been resolved.”

The websites that had been affected by the outage included aaj.tv, brecorder.com, Dawn.com, Samaa.tv, Discord, Omegle, DoorDash, Crunchyroll, Feedly, Zerodha, Medium.com, news outlet Register, Upstox and Social Blade among others, reported Dawn.

Cloudflare provides performance and security to website owners via its intelligent global network. This is the system status for the Cloudflare service, both edge network and dashboard/APIs for management.
