Ex-PM Imran in Peshawar to meet various leaders

Ex-PM Imran Khan reached Peshawar late on Friday night after the rally in Multan and stayed at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister House to meet various party leaders in the province on Saturday (today).

Meanwhile, keeping the recent security threats in mind, the Islamabad police conducted a routine snap check operation in the Bani Gala area, where the former prime minister also resides.

It was a routine operation and no action was being taken against those staying in camps in the area, the operation SSP confirmed.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar, however, claimed that a large contingent of police complete with a prisoner’s van showed up at Bani Gala but they turned back after they saw the number of young PTI supporters there.

He also told the government that they will be responsible for whatever happens in the country if they use force against Khan.

Khan while addressing a public gathering in Faislabad said that a “conspiracy” was being hatched to assassinate him and asked people to seek justice for him if something happens to him.

PTI leader Shahbaz Gill claimed that two of Khan’s cell phones were stolen from the Sialkot airport as Khan wasn’t provided any security.

Gill claimed that the phones were stolen to access the video Khan has recorded in case of his death, where he offers details against those involved in the alleged ‘foreign-funded conspiracy’ to oust him from power.
