Zar Sanga's vocals set Peshawar Zalmi's PSL7 anthem apart

Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar Zalmi on Friday released their official anthem for the seventh edition of the country's marquee domestic T20 tournament ahead of their clash with Quetta Gladiators today.

Titled "Aaya Zalmi", the anthem was shared on their their official YouTube channel. Renowned Pashto singer Zar Sanga and Sunny Khan Durrani have done the vocals for the song that features Zalmi ambassadors Mahira Khan and Ali Rehman as well.

Zalmi players Wahab Riaz, Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal, Hussain Talat, and Usman Qadir are also part of the four-minute video.

The anthem's video is directed by Hassan Dawar and produced by Rohail Hayat.

The franchise said that this Zalmi anthem symbolises "metaphorical representation of life".

The song is a blend of pop and contemporary rap, which not only includes Urdu but also features Pashto lyrics.

The 2017 champions Peshawar Zalmi and 2019 title-winners Quetta Gladiators will come face-to-face in their PSL season seven kickoff at the National Stadium Karachi.

The match begins at 7pm.
