Cricket fans thrilled as PSL 2022 set to kick off today

Today is the day cricket enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting for, as the Pakistan Super League 2022 kicks off in Karachi. Many are expecting a star studded opening ceremony, followed by an exciting match between A-teams Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans.

One user termed Wednesday the “chaand raat” of PSL, and another called January 27, (today) “Eid Day.”

Cricket fans are eager to watch their favourites from all around the world in action during the cricket.

Not only are viewers thrilled as PSL begins but players are also excited for the competition. According to Geo News, West Indies’ player Johnson Charles who is a part of the Multan Sultan squad said, “I am very excited to be touring Pakistan. It will be my second time in Pakistan and I am looking forward to sampling the cuisine and seeing the culture."

"I am extremely excited to be afforded another opportunity to represent Multan Sultans and looking forward to doing great things for them. It is a great feeling to be joining my teammates and I am looking forward to beating some of them in Fifa,” he said.

England’s Alex Hales who’s a part of Islamabad United called PSL a “really high-quality league,” while South Africa’s Rilee Rossouw said “it’s one of the highly competitive tournaments.” Rossouw will be playing with the Multan Sultans.

The National Command and Operation Centre only allowed a 25 per cent crowd attendance for the PSL's Karachi leg, being played at the National Stadium from January 27 to February 7.
