ASI shot dead in Orangi Town area of ​​Karachi

An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Police has been shot dead while dining at a local restaurant in the Orangi Town area of Karachi.

According to police officials, ASI Akram Khan was targeted in Gulshan-e-Bahar market while he was dinning in a hotel with his colleague ASI Zafar. Meanwhile, an accused wearing a shalwar kameez, entered the hotel and opened fire on both the officials.

According to the reports that assailant had two 9mm pistols in his hands and used both the pistols while firing.

According to the reports ASI Akram was injured by the firing of the accused and fell down while the assailant fired several shots at his fellow ASI Zafar but he narrowly escaped.

Police said that ASI Akram was being shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment but he succumbed to his injuries on the way.

As soon as the incident was reported, a contingent of senior police officials and Rangers reached the spot and after gathering evidence from the spot, investigation has been started. Eight pistol shells were found at the scene.

According to police, the victim and his accomplice were posted in the investigation department of Manghopir police station and the victim is from Mansehra.

A video of the attackers was also made by a rickshaw driver in which it can be seen that the two accused on motorcycles were standing outside the hotel, one entered the hotel and opened fire after which the accused fled.
