COVID-19: Pakistan reports 27 deaths, 991 new cases

Pakistan on Saturday has reported 27 COVID-19 related deaths and 991 new cases.

According to statistics shared by National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the country's nerve center for unified efforts against coronavirus, 46,269 coronavirus tests were taken countrywide, of which only 991 came out positive.

There are currently 2,296 critical patients of COVID-19 admitted to different hospitals in the country, no new critical cases were reported. The reported national positivity rate is 2.14%.

With these latest statistics, the country's total number of confirmed active cases stands at 35,491. Pakistan has so far recorded 947,218 confirmed cases, 21,940 deaths, and a total of 889,787 recoveries from the novel disease.

As per the numbers shared by the Ministry of National Health Service, 93.9% of the total confirmed cases have recovered while the mortality rate is 2.3%.

Currently, most active cases are reported in Sindh (19,847) followed by Punjab (10,259), and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (2,884). There are currently 1,203 active cases in Islamabad, 440 in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, 761 in Balochistan, and 97 in Gilgit Baltistan.

Vaccination update:

According to the latest numbers shared by the NCOC, Pakistan has so far administered 12,750,760 vaccine doses. 3,379,444 people are fully vaccinated while 6,829,705 have received at least one dose.
