At least 10 terrorists were killed in two separate operations by the security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations said that the operations were conducted on Friday and Saturday.

Four terrorists were killed during an intelligence based operation on March 8, it said and added that security forces killed four more terrorists during the follow-up sanitisation operation.

In a separate operation in the North Waziristan district, a movement of five terrorists, who were trying to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was picked up by the security forces.

“After an intense fire exchange, two terrorists, terrorist Hazrat Umer & Terrorist Rehman Niaz were also sent to hell, while three other terrorists got injured,” it said.

The statement added that Pakistan has consistently asked the interim Afghan government to ensure effective border management on their side of the border. The interim Afghan government was expected to “fulfil its obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for perpetuating acts of terrorism against Pakistan,” it said.

“Security forces of Pakistan are determined and remain committed to secure its borders and wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said.

Earlier this week, two terrorists were killed in separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday. One of them was the terrorist ring leader.

Terrorists were also involved in extortion and target killings of innocent civilians and were highly wanted by law enforcement agencies, the military’s media wing said.
