Sarfaraz Bugti resigns from Senate

He was elected to the Balochistan Assembly in the general election

Former caretaker Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti resigned as a member of the Senate on Tuesday.

Bugti submitted his resignation to Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani who accepted it promptly.

Sarfaraz Bugti had resigned from the caretaker cabinet to join the Pakistan Peoples Party and contest elections for the Balochistan Assembly.

He was elected from PB-10 after receiving 52,485 votes.

Although the PPP is yet to announce its candidate for the post of Balochistan CM, Bugti is said to be one of the frontrunners.

Prince Ahmer Umer Ahmedzai, another Senator belonging to the Balochistan Awami Party also tendered his resignation on Tuesday.

Ahmedzai’s resignation was accepted by Chairman Sanjrani.
