A delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) met with PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday as the Karachi based party shared its grievances with the party, sources said.

The meeting took place in Raiwand.

The MQM-P has also been part of a coalition government with the PML-N in the past.

Even before the complete release of the provisional results by the Election Commission of Pakistan, PML-N supremo Nawaz delivered a victory speech in Lahore.

The PML-N has emerged as the single largest party in the provisional results of 260 National Assembly constituencies issued by the ECP.

The MQM-P has secured the maximum number of seats in Sindh, prompting the PML-N to approach the party for making a central government.

The Karachi-based party delegation would be led by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, according to the PML-N spokesperson.

Shehbaz and PML-N Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz Sharif and other leaders of the party would also be present on the occasion.

No final decision reached in Shehbaz, Zardari meeting: PML-N

On Sunday, Aurangzeb said that no final decision was reached in the meeting between PML-N President Shehbaz and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

But she added that both leaders also agreed on holding further talks.

Sharif has tasked Shehbaz with approaching other political parties to make a coalition government.

“Independent candidates are also very important in the electoral process. Responsibilities have been assigned to contact independent candidates,” Aurangzeb said in her post on X.

“We recognise the mandate of all. Tomorrow is an important meeting,” she said and added that the final decision of the party leadership would be implemented.
