The attack came ahead of the election 2024 that has seen rising terror attacks across the country.

“More than 30 terrorists launched an attack from three directions. There was an exchange of fire for over two and a half hours,” KP police chief Akhtar Hayat Gandapur told AFP.

Meanwhile, the police said that SHO escaped the Wana blast without sustaining injuries, however, two bystanders were injured in the explosion, they said.

The police moved the injured to the District Health Headquarters while a search operation was initiated in the surrounding areas.
