UAE sets up $40 million fund for digital content creators

The government will provide a headquarter and training facilities for the creators as well

Dubai has announced a plan to support content creators by providing them with all financial and moral support to enhance the UAE’s influential global media footprint.

The government of Dubai has unveiled the plan, aiming to provide a proper platform for content creators under the umbrella of the government’s fund.

Vice President and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid, announced a AED150 ($40 million) million fund grant to support influencers and content creators and transform the digital media sector.

The plan indicates that the estimated project will cover the expenses of the publication of content, providing a headquarters to content creators with all the facilities they need.

The move signals the fulfilment of Dubai’s commitment to investing in creative talents and nurturing the digital industry, both of which will play a role in enhancing the UAE’s talent globally. The UAE hopes to turn itself into a hub for technology and digital media.

The government announced the plan at a gathering of thousands of influencers and content creators at summit held a few days ago. The summit hosted more than 3,000 attendees, 100 speakers, and more than 300 companies.

The proposed fund will also be used for traning new people to use digital media.

A state-run news agency shared Sheikh Muhammad’s words, saying: “We allocated a fund valued at Dh150 million to support content creators.”

Emphasizing the importance of novel communication channels, Sheikh Mohammed said that ‘Impactful media’ reflects the past and provides inspiration for the future.
