People belonging to more than 50 countries are exempted from holding a Schengen Visa to visit Europe. Check if your country falls on that list.

The European Union has a visa-free agreement with 59 countries outside the bloc, along with two distinct administrative regions within China (Hong Kong and Macao) and one territorial authority that is not recognised as a state by at least one EU member state (Taiwan), according to schengenvisainfo.com.

In addition to this, the list also includes British nationals who are not British citizens.

Non-EU citizens with a biometric passport can enter the Schengen area for short stays without a visa.

According to the EU, an airport transit visa is a must for citizens of some countries while transiting through the international parts of airports situated in any of the Schengen states. Moreover, citizens of certain countries must hold an airport transit visa when transiting through the international parts of airports situated in some of the Schengen states.
