A group of people was saved from a burning car at Karachi’s Shahrah-e-Faisal by rescue officials on Friday.

The fire was brought under control after some time, the Sindh Rescue 1122 said and added that no one was hurt in the incident.

They added that the fire broke out due to a short circuit in the electrical system of the car.

In October 2023, two brothers and their cousins were killed when a speeding car caught fire after ramming into a truck on the Hazara Expressway’s Pano Dehri Interchange.

The car was carrying four members of a family to Abbottabad from College Doraha when it crashed against a truck at the Pano Dehri Interchange before entering the Hazara Expressway.

At least five people were killed and two others injured when a fire erupted in the Arshi shopping mall of Karachi’s Ayesha Manzil on December 7. Several cars and dozens of motorcycles that were parked around the building were gutted.
