Islamabad pastor claims church taken over by armed men

Islamabad police has registered an FIR for an attack on a church on the second day of christmas. The complainant claimed that the church was taken over by the armed men.

The FIR was in I9 police station by Pastor Imran Masih and claims that six men armed with weapons barged into the St John’s Awami Church in H-9 around 8:30 pm on December 26.

The pastor said that a prayer ceremony was underway in the church at the time of the incident.

He identified three of the six men as Sohail Athwal, Asif Chattha and Mithu. He added that that Athwal was carrying a sub-machine gun while others were carrying pistols.

The pastor claimed that not only did the men lock up the church, beat the people inside and took away the sound system, they also took away two men named Babar Masih and Arif Gulzar.

Imran Masih also claimed in the FIR that the armed men had issued death threats and named people who had witnessed the whole incident.

He claimed that the armed men have forcibly taken over the church and asked the police to intervene and solve the issue.
