Pakistan’s case not included in IMF board schedule

The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has released its meeting schedule till December 14 and Pakistan’s case is not on the list.

According to the sources, Pakistan’s case is not included in the schedule of the IMF Executive Board.

In November, IMF has reached a staff-level agreement with Pakistan on the first review of a $3 billion bailout, where the country will receive $700 million after approval from the Fund’s Executive Board.

The finance ministry officials had expressed the possibility of convening the meeting on December 7 for the next tranche of $ 700 million.

Sources said that the IMF Executive Board meeting is likely to be convened six to eight weeks after the agreement, while the Christmas holidays will start at the end of December.
