Love takes flight: Couple ties the knot on plane
A couple got married on the plane during a flight, marking a memory of their special day with a unique choice of venue.
The bride’s father, a businessman with headquarters in the United Arab Emirates, picked the unique location for their wedding.
Dilip Popley rented a Boeing 747 and flew to Oman from Dubai in three hours.
Vidhi Popley, his daughter, got married to Hridesh Sainani during this period.
About 350 guests, including members of the media, close friends, and family, joined the couple.
When the baraat arrived at Dubai’s Jetex VIP terminal, which is close to Al Maktoum Airport, the festivities started.
Before boarding the aircraft, passengers snapped pictures with their boarding passes.
The aircraft was customized for the wedding, with a tiny protector fixed in place in each section so that guests could watch the rituals.
Adorned in vibrant outfits, guests were excited by the unique wedding, smiling and occasionally dancing to Bollywood songs.
During the ceremony, guests were treated to traditional Indian dishes.
These included mushroom pulao, palak paneer and daal masala.
