Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed has said that he is waiting for misfortune to befall Nawaz Sharif just like it had come to him.

Appearing at the Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench for a hearing, Rasheed said that he had been implicated in cases in cities he had not even heard of. He demanded to get details of all the cases against him.

Rasheed said that he had always been by Nawaz’s side at GHQ’s gate 4 and had already supported it. He added that misfortune had come to him and was waiting for it to come to Nawaz Sharif too.

He added that elections were bound to take place in the country eventually but they should be a competition between political parties instead of a competition between parties and institutions.

Rasheed approached the Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench on Monday with a petition saying that he was being falsely implicated in cases related to the May 9 protests, months after the cases were originally filed.

Rasheed has made IG Punjab and CPO Rawalpindi parties in his petition.

Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz heard Rasheed’s case and immediately fixed it for further hearing.

The court had originally raised objections on the petition regarding missing documents but has now been cleared for hearing.
