Khoya Hua Aadmi, a play written by actor and playwright Kamal Ahmed Rizvi, which is still relevant in the current times where people are grappling with back-breaking inflation, was presented at the National Academy of Performing Arts (Napa).

Rizvi had written the play in the 1980s, but the dilapidated infrastructure of the city, the growing hatred between the people, and the distance between the people have a contemporary feel to it.

The story of the theatre play revolves around a married couple Danish and Bano living in Karachi who suffered from a nervous breakdown due to unemployment.

The story is still relevant in today’s Pakistan, the lead actor of the drama told Aaj News. Kiran Siddiqui, who performed the character of Bano, said that her character reflected the present era.

According to the story, the life of Danish and Bano was repeatedly affected by the day-to-day events in the city. The company in which Danish was working for 22 years closed due to losses and he had a nervous breakdown while dealing with difficulties.

Meanwhile, their problems are further compounded when Bano’s job also goes away. In such a situation, Danish’s businessman brother and sisters come to his aid. But the protagonist found his own way out of his mental and financial troubles.

People who came to see the theater said that the message conveyed by the play was “beautiful”. The play will continue in Napa until October 29
