The Netherlands were all out on 90 as Australia won the match by a heavy margin of 309 runs in the 24th match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday.

For Australia, Adam Zampa bagged four wickets and Mitchell Marsh took two wickets.

Among the Dutch batters, six failed to reach double digits as they were bundled out for 90 in 21 over.

Batting first, Glenn Maxwell’s record-breaking ton helped Australia set a target of 400 for the Netherlands.

Maxwell scored the fastest hundred in the history of the World Cup as the Aussie batter completed his ton in just 40 balls, before getting out on 106 off 44 deliveries.

The Aussies lost the first wicket early after electing to bat first as opener Mitchell Marsh was out after scoring five runs.

David Warner hit another ton in the ongoing edition of the World Cup. He scored 104 runs while Steven Smith 71 runs to the total. Marnus Labuschagne also contributed with a fifty, scoring 62 runs.

It was then Maxwell’s show, who hit the Dutch bowlers all around the park. His knock consisted of eight maximums and nine boundaries.

Conditions in Delhi are expected to be warm and air quality is expected to be poor. While the pitch has shown scores of over 400 to the 280s, the first batting team has won all games on this venue.
