A citizen named Sarwar Taj, a resident of Mazang area of Lahore, approached the court to seek permission to drink poison.

According to the citizen, he wants to do this experience in front of everyone and nothing will happen to him.

The Lahore High Court asked the citizen who filed an application for permission to drink poison why he wants to drink poison? Justice Raheel Kamran said how can the court allow someone to drink poison, I think you are playing a stunt for cheap fame.

To which the applicant replied, “I don’t want any fame, I have faith in Allah and nothing will happen to me. I want to do this experiment in front of everyone at Lahore’s Mochi Gate, let the court allow it.”

The court said that suicide is forbidden in Islam, you are asking the court for permission to do something forbidden.

The Lahore High Court added in its remarks that there are decisions of the Supreme Court of India regarding those who ask for their own death. Cancer patients in India had approached the Supreme Court to facilitate death.

In response, the petitioner told the court that I will not die, believe me.

The court remarked that “We cannot allow any illegal act. If you have the heart, then do it, as per the law, the action against you will be taken, adding, “ You are wasting the court’s time”.

Justice Raheel Kamran reserved the decision on the admissibility of the application.
