The Medical and Dental College Admission Test was held across the country on Sunday.

However, an exception has been made for students from flood-affected areas and the test will be rescheduled for them at a later date.

A total of 19,014 candidates appeared in the test in Lahore including 5,755 men and 13,259 women. Test centres were set up in Government College University, University of Education Township and Government APWA College for Women.

Examination papers were transported to the test centres under the supervision of the assistant commissioner and the police.

In Sindh, the test was carried out in Karachi, Larkana, Jamshoro and Nawabshah.

A total of 40,539 applicants appeared for the test including 24,464 women and 16,500 men.

Meanwhile, many social media users claimed that the MDCAT paper was leaked online a day before the examination.

However, officials said that the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan failed such plans. The education secretary said that dozens of candidates who were allegedly cheating with the help of Bluetooth devices were arrested.

The secretary claimed that the commission had information regarding a group leaking papers through the device and helped students cheat.
