Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that if the general elections will not be held in 90 days, then at least it should be told when the same are going to be held.

“Jiyalas [a term used for PPP supporters] are waiting for when the Election Commission of Pakistan will release the schedule for the upcoming general elections so that they can start the election campaign,” he was quoted as saying in a press issued by the party.

He was addressing the party workers gathered to welcome him in Hyderabad on Saturday.

“It is being said that it is not possible to hold elections in 90 days, but I think general elections can be held within 60 days,” Bilawal said.

The PPP chairman added that the people were worried because the economic conditions were getting worse. “People know that if they want to get out of these problems, they have to support PPP. PPP has a history that it has always served the people.”

The PPP chief added that he was going to Lahore next week, where he would chair the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC). In the meeting, he said the future course of action for the party would be decided and the issue of election would be considered.

He clarified that from the leadership to the workers, all of them would be bound by the decisions of the Party. “We will make collective decisions, carry everyone along and as you have never disappointed me, I will never disappoint you,” he pledged.

He hailed the supporters in Hyderabad for always supporting the party that was founded by his maternal grandfather Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

“You elected a Jiyala Mayor for the first time in history, defeating the politics of fear, hatred and division.”

He further said that he wanted to give the people of Hyderabad their right to jobs, ownership rights and right to governance, adding that if the public supported his party, it would solve their problems.
