The jail authorities have commenced the construction of a washroom in PTI chairman Imran Khan’s cell in the Attock jail, sources said.
Reportedly, Khan shaved days after his arrest following the provision of a shaving kit to him in the cell where he has been confined after his conviction in the Toshakhana criminal case on August 5.
The PTI chief offered Juma prayer with other inmates at the jail mosque on Friday, August 18. He has also been provided with fruits including mangoes and peaches.
The former prime minister was arrested from his Lahore residence shortly after he was slapped with a five-year disqualification and three-year prison term in the Toshakhana criminal case.
An Islamabad sessions court handed down the jail sentence after finding Khan guilty of ‘corrupt practices.’
Khan was moved to the Attock Jail hours after his conviction where he was given a medical examination, in which the PTI chief was declared healthy.
Reports suggested that Khan had been given ‘B class’ facilities in the jail situated in northwest Punjab.
Khan was reported to have been provided with a room cooler, an attendant, newspaper and a washroom while he will also be allowed to go for a walk.
