With three wickets down, Pakistan needs another 93 runs to defeat Sri Lanka

The top order of Pakistan tumbled against the spin bowlers of Sri Lanka as Pakistan lost three wickets with a total of 38 runs on the board while chasing a target of 131 runs.

Imam-ul-Haq held the other end and was joined by Pakistan’s caption Babar Azam.

The hosts were all out on 279 in the second innings on Day 4 of the first test with Dhananjaya de Silva scoring 82 runs. The Sri Lankan opening batter Nishan Madushka remained the second top scorer hitting 52 runs.

Pakistani spinners Abrar Ahmed and Noman Ali shared six wickets among them with each taking three wickets. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Agha Salman took two wickets each while Naseem Shah remained wicket-less in the second innings.

Requiring 131 runs to win, the visitors lost their first wicket when opening batter Abdullah Shafique fell to Prabath Jayasuriya in the seventh over of their second innings after scoring seven runs.

He was followed by Shan Masood who also lost his wicket to Jayasuriya in the 11th over. Masood also failed to reach double figures. Noman Ali was run out without scoring any runs.
