Met Office has 110 manual observatories across Pakistan
Global climate change and natural disasters in Pakistan - Awaz - Aaj News

The Met Office in Karachi has different sections that read, evaluate, and analyse the weather system not just in the country, but around the world. The weather forecasting agency has been criticised for its predictions over the past many years, but in recent times its predictions have been proven accurate to a great extent.

Muhammad Umar Khan, the host of the Aaj News show Awaz, took a tour of the Met Office and met the chief meteorologist who spoke about the centre and different sections.

“Across Pakistan, we have 110 manual observatories and we have 80-85 automatic weather stations,” he said and added that they observe the atmospheric conditions round the clock.

He was of the view that there was an old perception of the Met Office. Sarfraz added that the centre has been performing better with the help of better machines and equipment.

Khan also met with Karachi Urban Lab Associate Director Muhammad Tauheed expert and visited the Clifton Urban Forest founder Masood Lohar.
