Twenty-two women – out of the 81 – were sent to jail for judicial remand after investigation. At least 21 belonged to Lahore while a woman from Rawalpindi was also sent to jail.

The report further added that 59 women were released on bail, out of which 31 were from Lahore, 11 from Rawalpindi, eight from Faisalabad, and four women from Multan.

Violent protests erupted across the country on May 9 after PTI Chairman Imran Khan was arrested by the paramilitary forces from the court premises in Islamabad.

The protesters attacked the Corps Commander House in Lahore, also known as the Jinnah House, and other military installations in Peshawar, Gujranwala and vandalised public and private properties.

Soon after the protests, the law enforcement agencies took swift action against PTI leaders and workers and arrested dozens accused of participating in the riots, including women protesters.
