A Russian tourist visiting the Hagia Sophia accepted Islama after listening to an Islamic lesson.
A video of the tourist reciting the kalima has gone viral on social media.
The Hagia Sophia was initially established as a Christian Cathedral and also remained a mosque in the Ottoman rule. Although reconverted to a mosque in 2020, it is still a tourist attraction for people from all faiths.
The Russian tourist also came to the mosque as a visitor but found himself in the middle of a lesson on Sahih Bukhari, one of the six authentic book of Hadith.
He therefore decided to accept Islama and recited the kalima behind the imam of the mosque.
After entering Islam, he was given the name of Ahmad Daneez.
