Yasmin wanted Imran to ‘give up’ amid fears of bloodbath, election delay
A new audio leak, purportedly featuring President Arif Alvi and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Yasmin Rashid surfaced on Wednesday regarding the ongoing police operation in Zaman Park.
A woman, who is believed to be Rashid, could be heard discussing the situation around Zaman Park with a man, who is believed to be the President.
The new audio leak comes after contingents of police reached PTI chief Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence to arrest him in the Toshakhana case.
During the call, Rashid could be heard saying that the situation is getting bad here as people are throwing petrol bombs at the police. “Before it gets towards bloodbath, I think you need to talk to some buddy and intervene in the matter.”
The man, who is believed to be Arif Alvi, assured her that he has talked. She once again insisted that he needs to talk to Imran Khan and tell him that the best thing is to give in and fight another day.
Earlier on Wednesday, An alleged audio of PTI lawmakers Yasmin Rashid and Brigadier Ijaz Ahmad Shah (retd) surfaced online where both leaders could be heard discussing Imran Khan’s directives to bring workers to Zaman Park to get party tickets in the upcoming elections.
In the alleged call, A woman, who is believed to be Rashid could be heard instructing a man, who is believed to be Shah, that she had a conversation with the PTI chairman, who has directed everyone to bring workers to Zaman Park and those who won’t they would get tickets in the upcoming elections.
Huma Butt of Aaj news also confirmed that PTI workers from KP surrounding Zaman Park.
“I saw PTI workers from KP everywhere around Zaman Park. All the roads around Zaman Park have been blocked and this has caused trouble to ordinary residents since it is a work day,” said Huma Butt.
Several PTI workers have been arrested so far near Zaman Park, as the police and Rangers launched a fresh push against them.
Rangers used rubber bullets against the PTI protesters as the standoff continues between them continued for over 24 hours since the police first arrived to arrest Imran Khan.
PTI workers, however, are still putting up strong resistance.
This is not the first time her phone was tapped. Earlier, an alleged call between PTI’s Yasmin Rashid and Lahore’s CCPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar circulated in the media where she could be heard asking him if the court has issued orders and whether they will be issued the same day at all.
