Former Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar announced that he had formally joined Pakistan Muslim League-Q on Sunday. He urged all political parties to sit together for Pakistan’s progress.
Addressing the press conference, at a joining ceremony held at Muslim League House Lahore on Sunday, Chaudhry Sarwar said Chaudhry Shujaat invited him to join the Muslim League-Q and he took the step after consulting all his friends, everyone suggested he should go with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain as he is a reliable person.
“Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain always tried to connect the politicians [for the betterment of the country],” he said.
The Former Punjab Governor said despite the sinking conditions of the country, the politicians are not ready to sit together. We [all] have to sit together to get the country out of its problems and to prosper. I invite all the authorities to come together for the development of the country.
Chaudhry Sarwar thanked PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Tariq Bashir Cheema for inviting him to join the party. He regretted that politicians are not ready to set aside their personal differences even in this critical time, the country passing through.
He said he is joining PML-Q with the spirit of serving the country and the nation. I am willing to make this party more vibrant, most dynamic and strong political party that works for the construction and development of Pakistan, he remarked.
Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, federal minister Tariq Bashir Cheema, federal minister Salik Hussain and Chaudhry Shafi, Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, Begum Parveen Sarwar, Mrs. Sabahat, Ansar Farooq, Chaudhry Azhar Waraich, Muhammad Asif Bajwa, Mian Waheed Ahmed, Rashid Riaz and Tayyab Chand Mian Kashif Iqbal were also present on the occasion.
While welcoming Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar to the party, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that the present and past politics of Ch Sarwar is transparent. He has a great affection for the people of Pakistan.
Ch Shujaat added that after Ch Sawar joining the party, PML-Q will not only be strengthened in Punjab but also in other provinces. A good number of overseas Pakistanis will also join our party following Ch Sarwar.
Sarwar was a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Punjab governor during former premier Imran Khans government.
He was removed from governorship before the election of the Punjab chief minister due to his alleged contacts with the Aleem Khan faction.
In January, the politician told the foreign media that he is not greedy for power and he wanted to leave a legacy after joining PTI. He added that a democratic political party must exist in the country.
To a question, he said that he will always share his thoughts before whatever political party he joins. He added that he will definitely consider joining a political party if its manifesto is in line with his thoughts.
