The Quaid-e-Azam University administration has expelled 79 students after a violent clash between two student groups which left several injured.

Registrar QAU said that the action was taken against the student for taking the law into their hands, affecting educational activities, and violating discipline.

The university administration failed to control the situation last week after the violence started with a minor conflict between two student groups. The university became the battleground as both groups beat each other with sticks, stones, and other harmful tools.

Following the clash, the QAU was shut till further orders.

A case was registered against 60 students in connection with the brawl in the university, which included sections of recent quarrels, interfering in the government, vandalism, harassment of female students, attempt to murder, forcible obstruction, and armed assault.

According to the FIR, after the recent clash, the university property was damaged and female students, living in the university’s hostel, were harassed.

The federal police took action on Tuesday night, February 28, and arrested several students.
