Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that it would be difficult for him to keep his ministry if promises made for Sindh’s flood relief are not kept.

Bilawal made the remarks while addressing a ceremony for distribution of aid to flood-affected farmers in Karachi on Sunday.

“We will remind PM Shehbaz of his promises,” the PPP Chairman said, adding that if the promises were not followed up it would be difficult to jusify staying in government to the people of Pakistan.

Bilawal’s PPP is part of the the PDM government under Shehbaz Sharif, which came into power following Imran Khan’s removal in a no-confidence movement last April.

Floods wreaked havoc across the country soon after the PDM government took power. The government has appealed for forieign aid to deal with the catastrophe as it grapples with an already burdened economy.

He also said that Sindh had its reservations regarding the ongoing digital census and they had been conveyed to the federal government. He also said that if the grievances were not addressed, Sindh would not support the process.

He also commented on the attempt made for the arrest of Imran Khan in Lahore on Sunday, saying that the media should focus on problems affecting the people.

Calling Imran a rat, he said that the former PM was hiding under his bed to avoid arrest in Zaman Park.
