Sindh police banned from using smartphones on duty

Disciplinary action will be taken against those found violating the orders

The Sindh Inspector General of Police has prohibited police personnel from using smartphones while on duty.

Officials are taking various measures to ensure the safety and preparedness of Sindh Police after the attack on the Karachi Police Chief’s office on Friday.

The order issued by the IGP office states that police officers are not allowed to use smartphones during duty and disciplinary action would be taken against those found violating the orders.

The order has been issued with the approval of the Tribunal, and copies have been sent to all Additional IGs, DIGs, SSPs, DIGs posted in Sindh.

IG Sindh has also decided to train the staff posted in the Central Police Office in basic safety.

He has issued instructions to all the officers in this regard.

The personnel will be given a one-day training by the Special Security Unit.
