KARACHI: District Central Police have arrested a man involved in the murder of Shahbaz Khan, a man whose dismembered body was found spread over a small area near the Paposhnagar Graveyard on February 8, 2023.

The accused, Akhtar, confessed to the crime during police interrogation.

The victim’s wife was involved in an extra-marital affair with Akhtar, police said. They killed Shahbaz Khan and cut his body into pieces, then took turns to dispose it of.

On February 12, police declared that the victim’s wife, Feroza was the prime suspect in the case. They said that she had not contacted the family and had been missing since the incident.

Police officials said that Feroza and her multiple lovers were involved in the murder. Feroza killed her husband with the help of one of the lovers, Akhtar, and dumped his body parts at two separate locations. Feroza and Akhtar took turns in dumping the body.

After disposing of the body, Feroza took money and clothes from Akhtar and fled to Chaman, the border town of Balochistan province, police said.

Police have obtained the CCTV footage showing Feroza leaving Paposhnagar graveyard after dumping the body parts.

The police said that the victim Shahbaz and his wife Feroza were not living a normal married life. They often had big fights.

Police have obtained Feroza’s call data records as the search for more accused, her other lovers, continues.

Shahbaz Khan was a rickshaw driver and a father of two children.
