Key England players are reportedly set to miss the upcoming Pakistan Super League season eight.

The preparations for the upcoming season are in full swing with Multan Cricket stadium set to host the opening match between the defending champions Lahore Qalandars and home side Multan Sultans on February 13.

However, both teams will be missing their key foreign players, as per Geo News. Adil Rashid, who is part of Sultans is set to miss a few initial games, while Brooks, who was retained by Qalandars is set to miss the entire season due to national duties.

The middle-order batter was an integral part of Qalandar’s trophy-winning campaign, as he scored 264 runs for the champions of PSL 2022, including a century.

Meanwhile, Rashid and Jordan Cox, who are part of Sultans and Qalandars respectively, will not be available for Sultans for the first three games.

Qalandars, will get a partial replacement of these players in the replacement draft, which is set to take place on Wednesday.

Moreover, Islamabad United will have partial replacements for Alex Hales and Moeen Ali. They will also need replacements for their Afghanistan duo – Rahmanullah Garbaz and Fazalhaq Farooqui.

Sultans will get partial replacement players of David Miller, Akeal Hussain, and Tim David.

On the other hand, Peshawar Zalmi will take a turn as the partial replacement of Mujeeb-ur-Rahman and Rovman Powell.

Quetta Gladiators will also opt for partial replacements for Waninidu Hasaranga, Jason Roy, and Odean Smith.

The PSL 8 will kick off on February 13 when defending champions Lahore Qalandars take on 2021 champions Multan Sultans in the opening clash at the Multan Cricket Stadium after a vibrant opening ceremony.

Meanwhile, the replacement draft for PSL 8, which was supposed to take place on January 24, has now been rescheduled to January 25 after a nationwide power outage on Monday.

The PCB said franchises asked the board for additional time to finalise their choices.

PCB has also approved the request of franchises to increase the pool of players. Now, franchises will pick two players in the supplementary category to complete a squad of 20.
