Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday said that the political forces need to ensure that institutions live up to their promise of not interfering in politics.

Addressing a gathering at Garhi Khuda Baksh on Benazir Bhutto’s 15 death anniversary, Biawal also said that former prime minister and PTI chief Imran Khan was not ousted by the White House but through a conspiracy hatched by Bilawal House.

“We sent Imran home through the Constitution. This was the first time the parliament ousted a prime minister,” Bilawal said while addressing an event in Garhi Khuda Bux to mark the 15th death anniversary of his mother and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Criticizing PTI for their baseless allegations against their opponents and state institutions the PPP chairman said that some people were trying to tear the country apart through baseless political narrative.

Bilawal said his party had rendered unprecedented sacrifices for the country, adding that Benazir wanted to make Pakistan an economic hub in the world.

The foreign minister said that his mother was a patriotic Pakistani, and her name was marked in not only the country’s history but across the world.

“She was the voice of the poor, a true supporter of democracy, and a strong reply to the terrorists,” the PPP chairman said, adding that his party was committed to taking her mission forward and that whatever work was left would be completed.

“The culprits behind her [Benazir Bhutto] assassination wanted to halt PPP’s journey for supremacy of the democracy,” the foreign minister claimed, adding that he will take his mother’s mission forward.

Bilawal while praising the supporters said that people had shown their loyalty towards Benazir and proved that they had not forgotten her political ideas.

“I want to tell them to come and see how many people gathered here in Garhi Khuda Bux. Even after all these years, bibi’s jiyalas [supporters] are still present here.”
