Suleman Shehbaz surrendered to Islamabad High Court and was granted 14-day bail on Tuesday. He was booked in an assets beyond means case.

Suleman, who is son of the sitting ptime minister Shehbaz Sharif, returned to Pakistan after four years of self exile on Sunday. He was granted bail by CJ Aamer Farooq.

The IHC had barred authorities from arresting Suleman on arrival, so he could present himself in court.

Speaking to reporters outside the court he said that he had finally returned to Pakistan because he is now sure of being treated justly by the court.

“For four years, Imran Khan did nothing but political victimisation,” he said. He added that the heads of NAB and FIA were blackmailed by the PTI government to make sure PML-N leaders were tangled up in corruption cases. He also called PTI a fascist party.

He added that he and Shehbaz Sharif were investigated by UK authorities but no evidence of ‘a single penny’s’ corruption was found. He added that Shehzad Akbar, who was the face of the accountability drive, was now hiding outside the country.

Since the change of government, cases against PML-N leaders including Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz have gotten relief from the courts.

Suleman Shehbaz also alleged that David Rose, the Daily Mail journalist who alleged corruption against Shehbaz Sharif, was brought to NAB premises in Lahore.

“We will pursue you until you are convicted in open and shut cases,” he told Imran Khan citing Toshakhana and helicopter references.
