ISLAMABAD: The centre stage of the PTI was being set up at the sixth road flyover in Rawalpindi after the police stopped the work near Faizabad and shifted it to Murree road, Rehmanabad.

It merits here to mention that the sixth road is a flyover, which is actually Murree road, but the flyover is called the sixth road flyover. And, Rehmanabad is on its left side. Two to three terms are used for it, however, it is the same thing.

But, Adviser to the Punjab CM on Interior Omar Sarfraz Cheema refuted reports of the stage shifted to a new location. Sources told Aaj News that both sides have agreed to the new location of the stage as labourers were working to set up it at the above mentioned location.

“The arrangements for the PTI rally in Rawalpindi are complete; there is no obstruction from the administration. Therefore, there is no truth in the news of stopping the preparation of the stage,” Cheema said in a statement.

Around 3,000 to 4,000 people were living in the ‘tent city’, set up by the PTI, at the Iqbal Park, according to estimates. Such a number in addition to the influx of PTI supporters from other parts of the country has left people confused as to whether it’s a public gathering or a sit-in.

The PTI has agreed to the 56 conditions—including a ban on anti-state slogans and speech against constitutional offices/armed forces/judiciary – set by the Rawalpindi administration for organizing the rally.

It has warned of action in case of violation of rules.
