Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan left his party’s protest march, which is camping overnight in Muridke, to head to his Lahore residence at Zaman Park for what party insiders desrcibed as a “key meeting”.

Imran left the calvacade for an “unknown location” when it reached Rachna en route to Gujranwala. Later, sources within the party said that he was headed to Lahore for an important meeting.

Asad Umar later confirmed the same, telling participants of the long march that Imran Khan would reach Muridke at 11:30 Sunday. “He had to leave for an important meeting.”

Fawad Chaudhry told them that the march for the day was coming to an end for the day. “We will resume tomorrow at 11am from Muridke.”

It was not clear who he was meeting although Imran’s abrupt departure gave rise to the possibility of of another round of back-channel talks.

Earlier today, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb categorically ruled out the possibility of dialogue with Imran, saying that he didnt want early elections but bloodshed and chaos.

Imran has also consistently refused talks, saying that they woudl be futile.
