Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan announced to launch a protest movement’ against the coalition government from Saturday demanding early elections.

“I am going to start a movement against the government from Saturday and you have to stand up for law and be part of this to achieve Haqiqi Azadi’,” the PTI chief said while addressing a lawyers’ convention outside the Lahore registry of the Supreme Court.

He also said he would soon give a call for long march’ on Islamabad to send the imported government home, urging the nation and lawyers to support him.

The PTI chief said that Pakistan needs the supremacy of law and lawyers have a big responsibility in this situation, adding that the economy could not be improved without a powerful justice system.

Imran Khan said that in western countries, no one received threats from unknown numbers, adding that those “issuing threats from unknown numbers” should be threatened back.

Imran Khan criticised the incumbent government for its economic policies, saying the rupee had greatly depreciated against the dollar and caused inflation and unemployment to soar.

He alleged that while the poor people were suffering, the wealth of those in the government was increasing.

A day earlier Islamabad Police asked for 30,000 security forces personnel from the provinces to deal with the PTI’s expected long march or sit-in.

The federal police asked for 20,000 personnel from Punjab, 4,000 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 6,000 from Rangers.

The police have also made arrangements to throw tear gas shells through drones at the protesters during the expected long march will place containers and will dig trenches at the entrances.
