At least two terrorists were killed in a gun battle with security forces during an intelligence-based operation in the general area Mir Ali of North Waziristan district, the armed forces media wing said.

“Resultantly, 2 terrorists got killed including terrorist commander Khabaib Alias Bilal of Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group,” the Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the site, it added.

“The killed terrorists remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces, preparation of IEDs and killing of innocent citizens,” the ISPR said, adding that terrorist commander Khabaib was also involved in suicide attack on security forces’ convoy in Mir Ali in August 2022.

Earlier this month, two soldiers were martyred in Harnai, Balochistan during an exchange of fire with terrorists. “Terrorists fire raided a security forces post in Harnai’s Khost area on late Saturday night which was successfully repulsed by soldiers,” the Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement on August 14.
