Sindh govt failed to provide 'drinkable' water for public: CJP
—File PhotoKARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh, Murad Ali Shah and former mayor Karachi, Mustafa Kamal have reached the Supreme Court’s registry in Karachi for the hearing of Karachi water pollution case.
A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar is hearing the case at Karachi registry of the Supreme court.
As the hearing commenced, the CJP stated that the water situation in the province has worsen over the years, adding that the Sindh government has failed to supply safe drinking water.
CJP further also said that, the chief minister has been summoned so they can resolve the situation together.
Kamal has been summoned by the court for his alleged involvement in illegal allotment of land reserved for the Mehmoodabad sewerage treatment plant.
Petitioner of the case Advocate Shuhab Osto said contaminated water is being provided to the eighty percent people in Sindh.
