KARACHI: Famous Qawwal Amjad Sabri laid to rest as large number of people attended his funeral prayers on Thursday afternoon amidst tight security in Karachi, Aaj news reported.

The 45 years old famed Qawwal was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Liaqatabad on Wednesday.

Shocked and grieved over the sudden death of Amjad, the entire country is mourning today.

Large number of people, including known politicians, sportsmen, actors and singers, attended the funeral prayers which took place in the Liaquatabad area.

Amjad is buried in the Paposh Nagar graveyard near the grave of his father and renowned Qawwal Ghulam Farid Sabri.

Meanwhile, Amjad’s elder brother Sarwat Sabri, who reached home from abroad to attend the funeral, urged the government to focus on improving the law and order situation in the country.

“Its the government responsibility to provide security to every citizen”.
